Autumn 2026
Getting to know you month.
Helping the children settle into their new rooms, meet new friends and key workers.
18th September – Talk like a pirate day! Children and staff can come dressed as a pirate for the day, there will be pirate activities all week so if your child is not in on Friday’s don’t worry they won’t miss out on all the fun and can come dressed as a pirate on the day they are in if they want to.
25th September – McMillian Coffee Morning
If your child is in Nursery today, please come and join us for some fun activities, yummy cake and to spend some time in your child’s room with them. Stay and play sessions will be arranged in each unit and will be posted on tapestry.
If you would like to make a donation to McMillian, please go online and do this direct with the charity.
4th – 10th October – UK Space week. Lots of space themed activities
4th October – Harvest festival
5th October – Grandparent’s Day
We invite Grandparents of children in Nursery to help us celebrate Grandparents Day in recognition of the important role they play in our children’s lives. This will be a stay and play session arranged by the unit and posted on tapestry (only those in that day)
23rd October – Term ends for half term
31st October Halloween!
Come dressed in your costume throughout this week, lots of spooky crafts and activities for the children to enjoy.
5th November –Bonfire night
Crafts, activities and safe safety learning. An opportunity to talk to your child about your fire safety plan at home and what to do in the event of a fire.
6th – 10th November Diwali celebrations
11th November – Armistice Day (Remembrance)
11:00am 2-minute silence, learning about the Fundamental British Values whilst remembering the sacrifices others have made. Poppy crafts, Preschool to visit the Cenotaph
13th November – Children in Need
Children and staff can come in their Pyjamas or anything spotty and join in some fun activities. This can be all week if your child does not attend Friday’s.

30th November – St Andrew’s Day ( Scotland)
Spring 2027
Traditional Tales Month
Children will enjoy listening to a selection of Traditional Tales including Goldilocks, 3 Little Pigs and Red Riding
5th – 9th January – Learning about the seasons and changes that occur in Winter.
20th January – National Penguin Day
21st January – National Squirrel Day
28th January – National Lego Day
29th January – National Puzzle
5th February – National Number Day
Fun activities learning about numbers, children could dress up involving numbers
6th February – Chinese New Year
Year of the Rabbit, food tasting, making lanterns during the week
9th February – Shrove Tuesday
PANCAKES FOR TEA! YUM
8th – 12th February Valentines Day
Little Stars will celebrate Valentines Day early with a week of Friendship and kindness.
8thth February – Start of Ramadan, children will take part in arts, crafts and learning across the month of Ramadan
12th February – End of term
1st March – St David’s Day (Wales)
4th March – World Book Day
Children can come dressed as their favourite book character and bring along their favourite book to read. If your child does not attend Thursdays, they can dress up all week
5th -14th March – British Science Week
5th March – Mother’s Day (7th March)
We are inviting in female role models for a stay and play session to help celebrate Mother’s Day, this will be arranged by the unit and will be posted on tapestry
17th March – St Patricks Day (Ireland)
19th March -Red Nose Day Come to nursery dressed in red. If you would like to donate to RND27 please visit their website and make it directly with the charity.
25th March – Easter stay and play session. To be arranged in the units and posted on tapestry. Also End of term
26th – 29th March – Easter weekend (closed for bank holidays)
Summer 2027
20th April – British Week, Little Stars will celebrate all things British including National Tea Day and St Georges Day on 23rd April (England)
29th April – International Day of Dance
30th April – International Jazz Day!
3rd May – May Bank holiday (nursery is closed)
8th May – VE Day
Design a medal, design a flag different activities to celebrate VE day
12th May – International Nurses Day
20th May – World Bee Day.
31st May – Spring bank holiday (nursery is closed)
1st June – National Dinosaur Day
8th June –World Oceans Day
17th June – Father’s Day
We are inviting in male role models for a stay and play session to help celebrate Father’s Day, this will be arranged by the unit and will be posted on tapestry. (Only those in on this day)
18th June – King Charles III official birthday (19/06) create royal crafts, and a picnic for tea
23rd June – National Writing Day – Lots of fine motor and mark making activities throughout the day.
5th – 9th July – Physical Development Day, includes Pre school Sports Day (date TBC).
10th July – Teddy Bears picnic
Children can bring their own teddies in and enjoy a lovely picnic in the garden
12TH – 16th July – our final week of term is PARTY week, includes Preschool Graduation (date TBC).
23rd July – Self Care Day, let’s all relax after a busy final week.
10th August – World Lion Day
12th August – World Elephant Day
14th August – World Lizard Day
A week full of learning about different animals!
We can’t wait to see all term time children back in September and hear all about your summer break!
